How to Handle and Prevent Online Harassment
Make sure your employees and managers know that any instance of harassment online, whether in a virtual meeting or via other online channels, must be reported straight away.
If your company is the victim of online harassment, take steps similar to how you would handle a claim of in-person harassment:
Document the complaint thoroughly.
Collect all the information and details of the incident; gather any additional pertinent documentation or records.
Alert your service provider about the incident, including any security vulnerabilities that may have contributed.
If appropriate, notify law enforcement.
Work with your IT team to ensure your teams are implementing proper security settings.
Train your employees on virtual communication security features, passwords, and authentication across all channels being used, to help prevent future incidents.
